JAMES HARRELL REGOGNIZED FOR LIFETIME OF SERVICE.

Saturday evening at the CCMA Annual Summer Meeting, James “Jimmy” Harrell was recognized for his lifetime of service to the concrete masonry industry and CCMA.  Jim was toasted and a little roasted by several Board Members as he received a special Honorary Member Award from the association.

Jim was one of the early leaders as North & South Carolina merged in 1981 to form CCMA as it is known today.  Jim was President, today known as Chairman of the Board, of CCMA from 1982-1983 and again 1990-1991.  Jim played a key roll in involving CCMA with the NC State Foundation, known today as the NC State Guild which is relative to the School of Design.  Jim was always there when called upon to lend his expertise, having been a journeyman mason (Burnt Clay Artist), masonry contractor and block producer, when CCMA would conduct seminars for design professionals and building inspectors.  CCMA recognized his extraordinary talent when it developed the Customer Service Workshop for Dispatchers and Inside Sales people.  Jim Harrell knows customer service and has more fun teaching than should be allowed.  That is why we call him Mr. Masonry.
